Wood is often described as the closest material to clay in terms of workability… I fell in love with wood as a material, but at the same time I was taking a Greek art history class. I had learned that ceramics were an incredibly important part of Greek culture… You need ceramic in order to hold such hot metal and you need molds that can hold up to said heat.
